got a new fridge, much bigger than the old one which was cooking things.
However it seems really cold, its freezing everything at the back and middle. I cant find the book that came with it.
Does anyone know which is coldest on the dial, 1 or 5? Its a swan larder fridge.
thankyou

On my fridge, not a Swan, 5 is the coldest.
Assuming you don't have a thermometer handy. What you could do is turn it one way and put a small amount of water at the back, an egg cup should do it. Then try it with the dial turned the other way.0 -
Mine is not a Swan either but 5 is the coldest. Looks like this may be standard. If other people could say ;you may get a consensus. I turned mine to 3 yesterday as it was too cold. The outside temperature does have an effect.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

5 is the coldest setting on mine, too. It was on my previous one, too, so that may well be standard for all makes and models (that's only a guess based on what I've seen, though, so don't take my word for it!).Back after a very long break!0

We have a Beko Frost-Free and the dial on ours goes up to 5 and we have it on 4.
I did find for a while things at the back were getting frozen, but it seems to be a lot better now.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £16,087.170 -
thanks all, the concensus seems to be 5 is coldest so I'll try it on 1 for a few days. Brrr! With Sparkles! :happylove And Shiny Things!0

for a fridge, 5-6 is coldest, but anything past 3 freezes the back panel so ours in on 2. dont be scared of the low numbers, a fridge is supposed to be 1-5 degreesTarget Savings by end 2009: 20,000
