Capquest & capital one

Have an account with capital and they passed it to our old friends capquest. Their is a payment I made in august and september to capital when they had it and only one of them is registered - maybe time for it to be registered as they received a payment around september 30th. My point is that after debating the toss with one of their lowly minions on the phone and getting no where (and to think this guy was a manager lol) I said to them to contact capital one to get confirmation of the payment to which they said they didnt have to. Well this is a joke as it now their debt so why should I waste my time in doing this.
Is this procedure as the guy was going on like he knew the score and saying that their processes wont be change for one individual!!
Any advice would be a good. Its a pain really as I only got the letters today and to think I paid them £250 on monday to clear my egg account - cant believe it that I am still lumbard with the sods!!!
Cheers
