Buyer 'changed their mind'

I sold an item yesterday, low value, only £2 incl postage. Today I've received an e-mail from the buyer saying that she 'mistakenly' bid on it and can I cancel the transaction.
I replied reminding her of her obligations and that I would give her 7 days to pay up or start the NPB process.
Am I overreacting? It is only low value, but I just can't be a*sed with people like this and I wouldn't trust her to mutually cancel the transaction (especially as it's not mutual). She's now on my blocked bidder list.

If they're too stupid to bid on the right thing, then what's to say they might click on the wrong mutual button and not accept the cancellation!?
Either ask her to pay the fees and you'll consider the transaction complete, or force her to go through with it. If she does leave a negative, just leave a factual reply.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Also, if you hit the buyer with an unpaid item strike, any feedback they leave will be removed. So don't worry about getting negged over it.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

Well I've just checked out her feedback - 19, with 100% (naturally!) and on there are 3 from sellers which suggest there have been 'problems' with the transaction -
'thanks asorted out' - (I'm guessing there was a problem here, which was eventually sorted)
'they dont read your write up about the item then cancel transactions'
'it was not the type of item wanted'
If only on the basis of the last two, I'm now definitely going to go down the NPB process if she doesn't pay. Most people learn from their mistakes..."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Sorry, but I don't think that this is correct - As I understand it, if the buyer does not reply to the NPB dispute, they cannot leave feedback. It is not automatically removed and if they reply to the dispute, very frustratingly for the seller, they can still neg you, however unfair that is.It aint over til I've done singing....0 -
Well the buyer paid up the following day. I sent the item the same day with proof of posting (it wasn't worth sending recorded). I'm anticipating a neg or a hit on my DSRs. Oh well, you can't win them all "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". It's so annoying, I had someone buy something off me (about £3 in total), waited 6 days for payment then sent them a polite reminder to pay within 7 days, or if they needed more time to pay let me know. They replied saying they'd emailed me (I never got an email) asking for my address to send a postal order to, when my listing clearly stated Paypal only. So I said I don't accept postal orders, only Paypal, and they replied with 'I don't have paypal.' They are a new ebayer, with only 2 feedback, so I felt kind of bad about opening a NPB dispute against them but being new doesn't give reason for not reading things properly? I don't know whether to neg them too, is that too harsh?

You can't neg them as a seller anymore - haven't been able to for a long time.It aint over til I've done singing....0

This isnt actually true, the only person that can remove a neg is the person who left it and its pretty rare that people will.
sellers will ALWAYS get screwed at some point, its a buyers market.0 -
Where on earth did you get that from? Ebay can and do remove feedback.fatherazhara wrote: »This isnt actually true, the only person that can remove a neg is the person who left itThis is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.
