I debated whether to put this on DFW or the OS board but I plumped for DFW as you've all been so helpful so far and being debt free is still the name of the game.
My gorgeous hubby and I are due to celebrate our very first Wedding Anniversary this Sunday and we are SKIIIIIIINT! Now the main thing for us is that no matter what, at least we are spending the day together but we would have really liked to have done something special to celebrate, after all your first anniversary is only gonna happen once!
We've talked about it and we are quite happy to wait until we're a little more flush to swap little presents but I'd really like some ideas for something to do to celebrate without having to spend a single penny.
I make my own handmade cards so am already working on a really special card for hubby and I know he'll raid my craft stuff and do the same for me so cards are sorted but what do I do to make the DAY really special???
So what can we do that will be really special - and free???? All ideas gratefully received
TIA

The first anniversary is the paper one, isn't it?
I think some special origami :-). Lots of crafty websites to help, just google 'origami.' (I am working on my origami cyberman atm, heh heh)
I draw the line at paper knickers though. Not so romantic.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
If the weather's nice, how about a romantic picnic dinner somewhere (the back garden with a load of candles in the evening).
During the day how about visiting a free local attraction like a park or museum? This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I second the romantic picnic idea and if it rains why not still do it but indoors.
go for a long romantic walk somewhere quiet and beautiful.
As its a paper anniversary why not write each other a personal letter, telling each other how you feel, how much you have enjoyed the first year and what you see in the future.
Or spend the whole day doing silly but fun things, like playing games, twister is always good. Snuggling up with a favourite movie or even looking at photos and reliving memories.
whatever you do i hope you both have the best day possible.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

Thanks for the ideas guys. To be honest I think I'm just so pee'd off today that I can't see the wood for the trees. I had already thought that I could give our bedroom a wee clean, change the bedcovers, put fresh towels out and leave a little mint on the pillows like a hotel
Then I got really fed up and decided that was stupid

Not silly at all, i did that one valentines day and it was very appreciated. I also put rose petals all over the bed and what with a bottle of fizz on ice and some fruit it was cheap and wonderful.
It is the all the small things which add up and are priceless, so all of DFW can actually afford them:DSuccess means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash
