Have you had a true diagnosis? Because to me it sounds classic Seborrhoeic Dermatitis which is a yeast infect which starts on the scalp and will over time develop on and in ears, across eyebrows, cheeks, chin.

A good way to tell is to go buy a bottle of Nizoral Shampoo - sold over the counter in boots or in supermarkets that have in store pharmacists. Use as directed and you should see an improvement in a week or so.

Theres no cure but it can be controlled with the shampoo

But do go back to your GP for another consultation
  • I would go back to your GP and get something else I have to change my meds regularly once the psoriasis flares up and the current stuff stops working.

Do you dry your hair with a hair dryer? My scalp is much better if I do. I use the shampoo you mentioned but only twice a week. Good luck - there are lots of exisiting threads on here with lots of help so maybe see if you can fine one of those - search itchy scalp.

  • My OH has Psoriatic Arthritis which is a rare form of arthritis linked to psoriasis. One thing he has found to work at reducing the itching is Sebco ointment and Alphosyl shampoo (both available on prescription). Another solution he uses is Synalar cream.
;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)
