Switching mortgage deal - do existing lenders do a credit check?

I am about to switch to a new mortgage deal with my existing lender. However, I have been refused a credit card recently (I am checking my credit report to find out why), and wondered if my lender would do a credit check for this? I have always made all mortgage payments.

As long as you're not increasing the borrowing, the lender will not do any checks.

If your lender does a credit check, they won't see the fact that you were declined for a credit card, only that the credit card issuer did a search on your file.

... and they will not do any income checks either, as long as you want to borrow the same amount.
That comes in handy if your income has dropped since you took the mortgage out..... as mine has :o
