Popped into local Tesco this morning to get my 9p Pringles. Checkout operator refused my coupon - NO INTERNETS. "But its got a TESCO logo on it" says I. NO GO. Went to CS till. Queued for 20 mins. NO GO. "But Tesco are advertising on the Internet" says I. NO GO. Called for Duty Manager, but got a very nice Team Leader instead who did agree that although they won't take ANY internet printables they will take the ones that say TESCO on them. We've had a lot of problems with the "Safe" coupons he said, so I didn't point out that my coupon had Couponstar in the corner!
I've now reported them to Couponstar who are going to "Educate them"!!! Won't hold my breath that it makes a difference but you can but try.
Wish Tesco would have the same policy in all their stores. It really is a pain never knowing if they will take a coupon or not. Mine WILL take Somerfield but not Lidl.0 -
Went to the Open day for the proposed new Lidl yesterday. Its even nearer than I thought - only a 13 minutes stroll! Hope it goes through planning OK. Anyway they had loads of lovely samples both to taste and take away - mince pies, apple pies, shortbread, crisps, fruit, drinks etc, etc. The unfamiliar brands were actually very nice so it will be interesting to try out more new foods if it does come to town.0

I like a lot of the food at Lidl and Aldi as they are very similar to some of the food we have in the States. They have a great selection of meats like the different salami's They also have a nice selection cheeses and yogurts, plus I find their yogurts cheap as well as yummy! The only thing tha let's Lidl and Adli down is they never have enough staff on the tills, other than that I quite like them.;)Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0
