I don't think this is a smart charger by the way though I do believe it's a timer operated one all the same.

The charger appears to be upside down when it's plugged into a mains socket!
It has an auto switch off facility built in, so there's no real risk of things going wrong if you forget you have left it charging.
It'-s NOT a rapid charger by the way.

There’s also a Sony charger, for £2.99, and comes with 2 AAA batteries. This only charges 2 batteries at a time (AA/AAA) and is apparently a better charger.
