Just been for a look, but can't see which hairdressers you can use the offer at

I wouldn't object tooo much to travelling for 45 mins (which I assume is each way) for a family photoshoot, but I'm not prepared to do that kind of journey for a wash and trim :(

Edited : Read further down the other thread, and it mentions a chain for the hair and beauty. Their site doesn't even have Manchester in the list of counties to locate the closest place !!!!!! Off to try and locate the closest photographer.....

  • thanks so much the cat - I have two vouchers on their way to me that solves 2 xmas 'i don't what to get' pressies.

Just got rid of a desk on freecycle and made someone very happy. Nice feeling.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

SFT - sorry I just knew because I had used the salon before. There is a list above but I am not convinced it relates to this and not a previous promotion. There is a phone number though so could be worth checking....

CW Last time I went the salon were very obliging in letting me 'top up' my hairdo with a colour. Only worth it if you would normally have more than a trim etc obviously but a saving if you do.

I don't normally go to a hair dresser at all.... last time was almost 13 months ago, and that was as a 'treat' from my last pay cheque before I anticipated having to answer to DSS about incoming/outgoings. Before that was several years earlier !! My last two visits included colouring, but at cheap rates as I booked in as a 'model' for a trainee (under supervision). May look around for a local place with that kind of offer again sometime next summer ;)

I generally trim my own when it looks a bit 'rough around the ends'

    Hi all,

Have had a super lazy day today. Friend came round for lunch, I did pasta bake which was tasty then I just chilled out, did a bit of online shopping etc, plus working my way through Stuff Mountain ready for the big move

Trying to decide when to move back and looking into voluntary work on farms in order to get experience.

Working at 8 tomorrow. Hope everyone is well
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment
  • Massive thank you to the-cat, solved 6 presents at one stroke! 2 hairdos for DD and DS's GF ( to add to things already got), a paintball experience for 8 for twin boys aged 17! (they're always hard to buy for, but the family are really good friends and extremely generous to me) and a visit to Chelsea fc for my BiL and neice. Also, go through quidco and get cashback as well!

Just a little thought for Mooloo. The water is colder at this time of year. I fill a big plastic bottle last thing at night. It warms up to room temperature. I use this for my tea so I'm not boiling it from nearly freezing. In the week when I'm working and on Sat and Sun mornings I run one bowl of really hot water and keep using it. I can usually get everything clean with just the one bowl. In the summer when the heating isn't on I boil just one kettle and make it last. This water has usually been preheated in the sunshine in a bottle on the patio.

What a simple and sensible idea!

Thanks for the welcome. I did a menu plan for the week and went shopping yesterday. Came in at just under £30 which is good for me. I did get a couple of 2-4-1's but only things that were actually on my list. I have been making Christmas cards today with stuff I already had that was bought several years ago but never used. OH has gone off to work away for the week so an opportunity to eat cheap this week. Swept up a couple of bags of leaves from the garden and did all the ironing so quite pleased with myself so far today.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

    Morning everyone,
Feeling like I have a cold coming on, yucko!
Not got much planned today. Just getting the house back to normal, well as back to normal as you can with various seats from cars and other things scattred about the place.
Managed to get through the weekend without a takeaway or buying any 'extra' food. There were a couple of times when I thought we might succumb, though.
Today I'm going to do some lamb casserole in the slow cooker with all my left over veg thrown in.
I'll catch up with you all later. Hope you have a good day.
