I'll have to get DH to re-programme it with any price rises as that's scared me now.
Having said that - love playing with it. I'm wondering if it wasn't an accident that its gone missing. The male folk in the house were tutting loudly and saying I was obsessed last year as I went round monitoring everything in sight feverishly.
I went round the house and did workings for anything I use regularly for both peak rate and economy 7 just to compare. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

I'd forgotten all about that blog. Glad of the reminder.
We also had HM ginger beer that mum made and I remember it being quite hot. Dad still drinks the canned stuff but it was different from that.
Nykmedi - I used those codes for the Evans loophole and got two great tshirts for a fiver. Was well pleased. Didn't join quidco till a couple of nights later - am a slow learner - so no cashback for me sadly.
If you're browsing for cheap deals then there was another good deal from pricemini5ter on the boards for £5 off (with code) for new customer, free delivery and 8% + £5 for first order cashback on quidco. (My 8% didn't track but £5 did on quidco).
It meant I got a dvd I'd been after effectively for nothing. In fact they paid me £1.01 to take it away once my quidco pays up.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

cheerfulness - great dvd bargain :j
Just been doing some baking, have made a traybake for DD to go in her goodies tin.Just ned to ice it when it cools a bit. She is off competing at a horse show today - cross country I think, and will be ravenous when she returns and straight into tin before dinner as usual:rolleyes:
Also have a pineapple upside down cake in oven at the moment for OH, I might have a piece after dinner, but don't really eat the cakes, although you wouldn't think so looking at me:rolleyes: The pineapple cake is another thing on my 101 list as I can't remember ever having made one before, so hope that one turns out.
The kitchen smells of ginger - nomnom - and is making me crave gingerbread men so might just have to make a few of those later - i WILL eat those :rotfl:0 -
I've bee trying to make wedding bouquets this weekend. If I've done the link right, then the results should be here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=25666629#post25666629
I think I might get the shed later :-)Live on £11k in 20110 -
They are lovely Lynda and a fraction of what you would have paid just for the one for the bride,:T:T:T yet another talent to add to the list of £4000 thread creativity.
Like getting your shed for free with the savings on the flowers :j
No gingerbread men for me pah - the baking soda is at other house and I can't be bothered going for any more0 -
"Step away from the ginger SM, step away form the ginger...":D Ah, I see you have been forced to.
They look gorgeous Lynda:T And I can see the advantage of silk being you can get them all sorted long in advance.
SM - the only thing I can remember making in school ec lessons is a pineapple upside down cake. Never made one since. Keep meaning to make one for OH.
Not enjoying 'the choose a lodger process' - 1st interview ticked many clean, tidy quiet & frugal boxes but something undefined holds me back from shouting yippee...but you can't guarantee the perfect person will come along and how long does one wait. Out of 5 lodgers I've had, 2 I knew instantly we connected and was proved right, the other 3 were ok. It's a lot to expect that instant bond of connection every time. And this is the 1st time I have had OH to consider too (who is out all day).I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Pineapple upside down cake turned out lovely and smells divine:D so that is my baking bits done for the day
DD's tray bake will make about 15 decent sized squares of sugar rush!!! , as you can see I am still using my mahoosive stockpile of cake decorations from last year's supercook bargainous bulk buys. Only about another 40 tubs left to use lol. Also used up some pineapples dated may 09, overall these have only cost pennies to make - dearest ingredient would have been the 6 eggs but mum gave me a box to use up before she went abroad Fri so no cost to me
BB must be hard deciding who to take, I don't envy you having to choose someone to share your personal space. I have to select candidates for tenanciesat work and it's true that you do get an immediate feel whether someone will fit in,but at the end of the day I am not sharing my personal space with them just the scheme community. Good luck!0 -
DH is just off to work, bless him. I had the sudden urge to go Christmas Shopping this morning, so dragged him out to carry the bags!
I got all the 'Aunty, Brother' etc cards less than half price, and very nice they are too. Was going to make them, but don't have much time at the moment.
Got presents for brother, mum, aunty. All stuff they wanted. Spent about £25 each (that's the family limit) but they've got at least £40 worth of present each. Have to go to a different town for the rest of the family presents. Still, I'm pleased.
Have to make cheese and potato pie for tea (too late back to make for lunch).
Loads of ironing to do, and tidying up and getting organised for a huge amount of work tomorrow. DS was poorly last week and off school for 3 days. I find it hard to work when he is hanging around, even though he is as good as gold.
DH's citizenship request has been accepted, so will be having a ceremony within the next few months. It was a much quicker process than we thought. Mind you, I am a paper trail freak, so we have evidence for everything.
Need a lie down I think before I do anything else.
Will speak to my pal later. She has joined a dating site-thing last week. She has 'messaged' a very nice-sounding person, and last night he invited her out for coffee this week. I am very excited; more than her in fact, as she is trying not to get her hopes up too much.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
