Yep, though my DH thinks its disgusting, I quite happily use ketchup like tomato paste.
Then it's just a case of putting your toppings on and 'baking' it in the oven. Of course you could just grill it, like cheese on toast.
Just a thought and I've not done it myself, but what are calzones? Aren't they like filled pizzas? Maybe you could fill your pitta bread and bake it?0 -
SFT, we have always had problems with condensation despite trying all the various eco-friendly methods, but I resorted to leaving the dehumidifier running 24/7 and opening windows as often as I can. I use a little lemon juice & salt to remove the stains. Hope this helps
FrankieM, I have been a meter watcher for years but there's a thread on here about it. If you look at page one of this challenge, there's a list of handy links. You'll find it in there. It just helps you keep tabs on how much you're spending.
Pitta bread - I usually have a stock of these in my freezer because I slice them through middle then fill them with cheese etc, pop into microwave for couple minutes and they come out like frugal panini.Even DS loves these.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Ok, so DH are munching our way through tonights dinner. Going to have to think of something else for tea...French onion soup, toasted cheese and choc cake and cream for pudding? Does that sound like a proper meal??
Not really been up to much else today, as you can tell cause I keep popping on here! Going to do the hammerite after lunch. I've also been wondering ow I'm going to work out my days to cover housework etc once I start my course in January. How do you guys do it? Do you have a cleaning day? Also thinking about reworking the how much I'll be saving so I don't necessarily need to get any student loans at this point. We will have sold the house by September next year so I may be able to get away with not having any at all.
Just thinking out loud and not making any sense...!0 -

I took DGD with me to visit my BF for the weekend, so managed only to spend £1.39 to get some milk there. Also saved on wood as no fires at home. But had left the storage heating on low.
Today I have been to visit DD with DGD and had to fuel the car, so £43 to fill the tank. It is 22 miles to DD each way. So I will not be able to take DGD to visit her mum every day. The Social Services are not allowing me any funding. Say that DD has to give me the money. I am disputing this. But so far my pleas are falling on deaf ears. There has been no help. no sign of childcare placements, and no idea how long I will have to hve DGD with me.
So I am off to fight the system. f I can stay awake long enough. I am shattered.
Managed to get DGD to go for a sleep, so I can get on here, and do some things. But I will be having to wake her if she doesnt wake soon, or we wont get sleep tonight. (Bit of a double edged sword really!).
Why is SS different whereever you are in the country.?When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo you poor thing. It's almost as if SS are forcing you to refuse to have your DGD before they will do anything at all. What a horrible situation to be backed into. No advice I'm afraid, except to try and get as much rest as you can whenever it is (Have a rest/nap yourself if she has an afternoon nap)
Not a good day here. Am currently sitting waiting for a plumber to fix the broken heating system and had to buy a new vacuum cleaner this morning. Oh and the phoneline seems broken too, but that will have to wait. Its crackly but just about usable. It's worse when it's been raining so have visions of the whole front garden being dug up to fix it. Can't face that till it's desperate!
Will spend some time playing around with CW's spreadsheet. It's fab (thanks Cheryl) but will need a bit of juggling to fit my finances. Then might go on a whoopsie trawl tonight. Bad weather always seems to mean there are more bargains to be had!0 -
I think I am more frustrated really. Its just the unfairness of things. I want to help my daughter, but Idont have a bottomless pit of funds. Or I wouldnt be on this site.!
An minimum fostercarer pay is around £106 a week. That would make things alot better, and I could pay for the extra heating/water/fires, and fuel to visit DD. Also to take DGD out and about to a few "treats". But at the moment, I amnot exactly
flush, and no credit cards etc or overdrafts to fallback on!).
Oh well, I have survived so far, so with the ingenious recipes and the lifestyle of people on here, no doubt I will manage somehow.
Nopain no gain???
Wonder if there are any charities out there that can help?
DS just rang, need to go and get him from work. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
