Joint mortgage - are we first time buyers?

I'm sure this has probably been answered before but....

My other half and I are thinking about buying somewhere together. At the moment we both own our own flats. We are intending to sell his and keep mine and rent it out. After he sells his does that mean he becomes a first time buyer again and would we be eligible for first time buyer offers even though I would still own my property?

Thanks in advance for any help!
