I am just so fed up today, sorry

:cry:Sorry to do a miserable moaning thread, but having a really down day. Just got back from seeing my CPN to find a letter from Nat West about my loan that I can no longer pay due to being unwell and out of work. I had phoned them on monday to say I can't pay and am going through CCS. Phoned them today and they say they have no record of my call on Monday. Told them again I was on benefits and would not be able to offer them much. They are already charging me £38 for a unpaid DD for this loan, I tried to cnx it but they told me I could not as I owed the money directly to them, so essentially they are taking more money off me for the "crime" of having no money and they are now charging extra interest on the loan. They also told me that they will go down the route of a charging order if they are not able to accept token payments. Feel really upset, was crying when I came off the phone. I am looking for some part time work as am not well enough to do full time. Been to Job centre there is hardly anything and then got local paper cos it is jobs day today, there are only 120 vacancies advertised and I live in the sixth biggest city! I know I must pick myself up and carry on but I live on my own and it is so hard. My health is not good but I must get some work or I will go under or lose my house. I have paid off the mortgage and now feel that I have worked for nothing if Nat West can have a stake in it. I did not just wake up one morning and decide to be ill and then get made redundant just to p*** them off, I hate this situation. Sorry to winge but feel a bit hopeless today. Tomorrow may be better

  • So sorry you are having a bad day, me too. Anyway you just keep your chin up it must be so hard when you are on your own, have you not got a friend you could call to come round just so you have some company.

I have only just recently come onto this site and have found a lot of comfort from reading other peoples stories and realising I am not the only one out their with problems. Sometimes you feel like everyone around you is enjoying life and have no problems but they, I think, just hide it easier.

I have not got many suggestions apart from selling anything on e-bay doing a car boot just for some extra finances but when you are feeling unwell this is a bit difficult to do.

By the way I wish I had paid my mortgate off, you lucky thing you just remember that is a great achievement to do this. Someone will come along with some better advice, but I just wanted to reply to you because I know how it feels when you are having a very low day.

I hope tomorrow is better, take care.

That's banks for you - they say you haven't money in your account to pay a DD yet think you have enough in to pay charges? Suggest you go down that list of jobs and highlight at least ten possibilities and apply - you never know your luck. At least you have no mortgage to worry about. Tomorrow is another day so hang in there and do something to make you feel good today, no matter how small. Console yourself with the idea that you are paying off your debts however slowly and that one day you will be debt free.

smileyhug.gifPoor you yellow. Will a big hug help at all? Its so frustrating when these companies treat you like you enjoy being in debt and not being able to repay them. It might be better to write to them explaining your situation and about the repayments rather than speaking to them on the phone. Your welcome to have a little moan whenever you like on here but try not to let them make you cry. duck2.gif

  • Yes, I empathise totally. I am a single mum, disabled, and my dh was murdered when our dd was just 8 months old. I am s/e, and so had to keep working to pay the bills throughout the trauma of dealing with my dh situation. I also started to fall over a lot which I put down to stress, then when there was the odd occasion I couldn't get to the bank to pay in cos I was recovering from a fall or whatever and my dd had to take priority, the bank didn't want to know. I am now contesting their decisions to not make "reasonable adjustments" for my situation which like you was not of my own making as per the Disability Discrimination Act and Human Rights Act. I have no def response to my complaint, just acknowledgement of it and that they will get back to me in due course. Nevertheless, they are under the impression a third party is working on my behalf which is not the case!!!, and I feel happier that I am taking them on, that I may just have a case. Its self empowering.

I think the problem you have is that you are feeling you are out of control of everything, and there is nothing you can do about being ill. That may be true but there is a lot you can do to rise above the situation and to look forward as best you can. You know why you are in the situation you are in, the Bank are treating you as a statistic and are not going to change any time fast. Do what you can do with relative ease to move on from this situation, get proactive and you will start to feel self empowered too. Consider ebaying, working from home, etc etc. You will move on from this and although you live on your own, it may be good to confide in a friend how you feel so you don't feel so alone, or continue on this forum where you wil most certainly receive the encouragement you need. Goodluck and take care xx..

((((((Yellow)))))) I really feel for you and these conversations on the phone with banks and stuff are horrible. When I first got in trouble I was in same situation as you, off work with health problems and couldn't see a way out. When I went to a debt counsellor she told me not to contact the people directly and that it would all go through her, any letters I got etc to take to her not reply to them. They seem to accept stuff more if it doesn't come from 'us' mere people so to speak. If you are with CCS would it be an tell them what is going on so that the bank have to communicate through them instead of harrassing you?

Please don't make your health worse by pushing yourself too far too soon, like you say tomorrow may be better.

I had a charging order on my house back then put on by Lloyds TSB but nothing came of it, it did cause lots of problems when I was trying to remortgage later ( I had at last faced the demon of trying to get an ex partner's name off the property......long story) What the solicitor said was they couldn't do it until it was paid as it was a charge not a caution (or maybe the other way around?) so I had to ask for £40,000 instead of £35,000 which they agreed to and this paid it off. Everything was going through Payplan then and they had taken a months payment so I even had the pleasure of getting that back from them as a cheque :)

(Before anyone jumps in.......these debts were all from 1999 and the remortgage was in 2007 so they were no longer on my files and I was working by then which is how I was able to remortgage.I also cleared all the other debts) Only wish that I had learned my lesson from the first time this happened to me as I have now accrued more debts after paying all of those off :( but I have this site now and a lot more tools in the box so to speak and am determined this will never happen again

It will get better Yellow hun xxxxxxx If there was a 'flowers' icon I would send you some xx
