Wednesday 30th Sept - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

*waves* to all you regulars...hope all well and to any new posters!
No work today for me - off to college today and we're spending the day at the Uni that delivers the course (it's taught at my local college so very handy;)). An early finish of 2.45is timetabled so hope it stays that way!

A pile of lovely new books arrived from Amazon for me yesterday so hopefully get time to look through them a bit more tonight - I LOVE new books

Youngest DD off to a friend's after school, so peace til 7...eldest will no doubt go out with her friends when she gets in as sh likes to do on a Wed.

So, today's list:

• check banking - all ok, but no student loan yet:rolleyes:
• daily scratchies
• packed lunch for DD2, DD1 having dinners - but saves me cooking tonight as DD2 fed at her friends!(time saving that)
• Lunch provided fr me...freebie
• meal from freezer/store tonight for me...something on toast maybe?!
• no heating on
• washing on quickwash now
• washing on line before I go out
• LSD - probably only buy a coffee at Uni today
• Sparkle

Two more days till Butlins and my birthday!!! Woo hoooo!!!! :j:beer:

Very productive NSD yesterday - got all of my list done, and then some!! Hope today is as good!!

- Check online banking
- Quidco clicks
- Packed lunches with home made fairy cakes
- Tea from freezer
- Hairdresser after work (but is cheap as she works from home not in a salon)
- Start list of what to take for the weekend
- Bit of hokey cokey
- No heating on

• Have an LSD – I need to buy a sandwich as I have run out of time today
• While I am on the internet catch up on the forum from yesterday
• Put spare change in my coke bottle saving’s pot
• Apply for any interesting jobs

Have the day off today so hope to get lots done so here is my list, fingers crossed I'm productive.

• [STRIKE]I need to complete and send off work submission to get onto playwright course! Most important thing to get done today!![/STRIKE] Managed to do but took me most of day like I thought it might! Will send off later this evening onc eI have check through again and get DH to make sure it is in the right format as have Open office on laptop not Microsoft word so occasionally goes funny!

Morning Everyone its Wednesday already:eek:
My week is slipping away from me. We had the launch party for our Rainbows/Brownies & Guides I had to leave early because I had theatre tickets:o. But had a really great time; went to see That'll be the Day it was definitely worth watching:D

So today I have a day at home; which is a good thing. I have a really nice pain in my heel and it takes a while for it to go each day and this morning it is particularly bad, but I am a good girl and have done my excercises.:D

Fay - glad u have shiny new laptop - is this the purple laptop? You will soon make friends with the keyboard, ds uses a laptop all day just about, and said the other day he doesn't like regular keyboards now

Also I am waiting for dd's new phone. It is a contract one, got it from orange through quidco, and it looks like it is going to track me a nice £150:j

But Today I am going to

Check online banking
Stuff in dishwasher
Wipe down in kitchen
Sort washing to go in overnight
Dinner from storecupboard/freezer
As ds is going to be home ed until next June. I shall start planning work for him. We have two courses on Dj skills and Photography Course; which is starting this evening, so now I can work around those and guitar and english lessons...... Its like planning a military mission. In some ways I will miss this when he does start college next year and in some ways I wont.
Today I will also finish off client accounts ready for tax return

Had free exercise
vacuumed the house

Today I will:

Go to my nans for breakfast & chat
Get my hair trimmed by a friend for £3 and a cup of tea
need petrol(shop around)
go to dance class this evening

Am having quite a productive day so far looking at that - shame the same can't be said about work, I'm really struggling to concentrate recently. Need to try and focus more.

Busy day at work today, but have had free bacon butties this morning and will be cooking tea for oldies tonight so will have eaten for free all day today:D

• update spreadsheets
• have a no spend day
• blanch and freeze even more runner beans from mums
• find a space for kenwood chef mum brought over for me (don't tell OH he despairs of my kitchen gadget collection!)
• not use the car
• recycle hundreds of plant pots ready to sow seedlings in the spring
• start tidying the garden ready for winter
• ring friend later using free minutes
• recycle some jars for marmalade making
• one lot of hokey cokey and some ironing
• sparkle

Afternoon all,

I'm pretty new to all this but I like lists and as I write my own everyday I thought I might as well post them on here and keep myself focused!

DFW things acheived so far today:

• Brought my own lunch and dinner to work
• Resisted the pull of the vending machine
• Declined to put £10 into a birthday collection (even though it made me feel like a scrooge but in my defence I had already put in £5 to the regular collection and this was voluntary!)
• Not spent a penny so far

DFW tasks I hope to complete by end of the day

• Continue to not spend any money or visit the vending machine
• Sort out some of the massive pile of bill paperwork I have sitting at home
• Run round the park - free excercise
• Cancel my ww subsciption and go weigh at Boots for 50p
