    Aweome thanks. And whilst you're here....

    On the brochure it said this:

    And from the looks of the other Certificates it didn't seem as though there was one for picking out investments in particular, that was the cloest one.

    :D
    `
    Well it doesnt surprise me that you couldnt find the actual one that covers it.

    So here it is

    AF4) Investment planning
    At the end of this unit, candidates will
    be able to advise clients on a range of
    investment issues, including:
    • economic environment and its impact on
    investment performance and investment
    decision making;
    main features, risks and returns of
    direct financial investments, collective
    investments and other investments;
    • individual company performance and
    company accounts;
    measurement and management of risk
    and returns;
    main principles governing how to
    construct an investment portfolio;
    • range of investment management services,
    how their performance is evaluated, and
    their regulatory environment.

    Ive highlighted the relevant sections to make easier for you to find Lokolo

    To save you pming Dunstonh, yes its an advanced qualification and no its not a mandatory qualification for an adviser putting together an investment portfolio.

    please note no stupid grin!

    I wasn't aware you asked a question of me to answer. :confused:

    Your updates and those of Dunstonh are interesting but they don't really add anything to what has already been claimed earlier in the thread - and yes I did read it all thanks.

    If a person is authorised they are usually deemed qualified to do whatever they are authorised to do, otherwise why bother with authorisation. Some will obviously be better than others.

    You say they aren't qualified and dunstonh says they are. So right away we have a conflict.

    Surprised a school teacher cant tell the difference or the value in holding a qualification.

    Qualifications aren't everything.

    I am sure there are IFAs better than CFPs. Just as there are better employees without degrees than compared to with degrees.

    You can't just assume that just because someone has a better qualifciation that they are better than every other person in the same job.

    Also you start quotes with [ /quote=NAME] and end quotes with [ / quote] without spaces inside the square brackets.

    Authorised by the FSA - need I say more! The same people who saw no problem with people running our banks without any banking qualifications.

    OK - what's better?

    Diploma of College of Education with 32 years experience or Bachelor of Education with 8 years experience?

    Fair enough , im sure the qualified might have something to say though.
    I am sure there are IFAs better than CFPs

    on what basis are you sure - what is your knowledge and experience in this area?
    . Just as there are better employees without degrees than compared to with degrees

    How do know, have you ever worked?

    no, but I think its nice to know that the person who is charging you a fee/ commission might actually know what they are talking about.

    I currently work for one of the biggest companies in the world.

    Your idea that someone having a qualification is always better than someone without a qualification is flawed. It's as simple as that.
