Ive never had a problem with RE, always had reasonable fee's (got 2 big ones for hardly any work recently), always been paid. If no fee has been paid then ive got myself a wee treat for nothing or something put by for xmas - every little helps.

Not had a problem wit GAP either. Mind you this month will be my first pay so we shall see lol.
  • Theres nothing wrong with RE as long as you select your assignments carefully, same with GAP. Both have plenty of none purchase work avaliable if you look for it.

GAP do seem to have a habit of sacking people without warning but tbh I dont see it as a reason to get upset - they always seem to pay the people they've sacked and you dont know that they will sack you!

I personally have never had a problem with RE's payments, sometimes they're a little slow at proof reading then can make some annoying queries which hold it up further, but the big plus point of their system for me is the twice monthly payment run - means if my 'ms float' account is starting to run low it gets topped up while I wait for the monthly payment runs to arrive.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

  • The only problem I've had that wasn't resolved amicably ( quite often to my favor) was with GAP changing the dates of my assignments (to dates I can't do)... each of the MS companies have little quirks like this, they either annoy you or they don't but you have the choice to get over it or don't do any jobs for them.

Never been sacked from any MS company in 7 years of MSing and only had my first query last week - which I have to admit, I hadn't answered the question properly so was happy to elaborate to correct my error.

I have stopped working for RE now - first of all they changed a date on an assignment and then penalised me for not doing it on the original due date!! and then some other visits that I had agreed to do as a favour, as nobody else wanted them, I had arranged the dates with the coordinator, and then I was getting stroppy e-mails to say that my assignment date had passed and I hadn't submitted my report - I politely replied to say that we had already agreed to extend the date - but seemingly the member of staff at RE hadn't done so, so I couldn't change my assignment date.

Before that though, I had found RE increasingly picky about reports - and I think I write good reports!

The only company I work for now is React - and to be honest, I do very little work for them, purely because I don't have the time.

  • I do very little for Gap any more. Mainly due to the fact they refused to pay me for a breakfast burger job as they say it should have been completed between 12-2.l Quite how I should have done this when breakfast stops at 10:30 is beyond me.

But of course, according to Gap, it was my fault and they weren't paying me for it. Then they phoned me on sunday and offered me another burger place and despite being offered 2 petrol jobs, I said I would only consider doing this one if they paid me for the previous one. They wouldn't, so b*****cks to them.
  • not so much as crap as they pay peanuts now as they have so many shoppers,
