My brother, sister and I are looking to get mum and dad something really cool for their 25th Wedding anniversary, its in early December, so we still have some time yet.
None of us want to spend too much, (besides mum would have an egg "in this current climate" as she is fond of quoting) I know 25 years is Silver and all that, but we don't really want to buy something tacky and plated - so any altenative suggestions great fully recieved.
cheers

How much do you want to spend?
We sent OH,s parents on a weekend break to a very nice hotel at Loch Lomond a few years ago for their 30th anniversary and it was under £300 for 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast, all food, champage and flowers on arrival(optional extra at £40,but still came in just under £300 in total even with that) etc,use of spa and golf course was included too but I dont know if they used it.We halved in with sister in law and paid for it between us.It was a special offer deal, off season. We got the hotel to do up a little certificate and a folder with all the details in it for them and presented that to them on the anniversary. It was a luxury hotel so I am sure they must have thought we spent far more on the weekend.
This is the hotel.http://www.devere.co.uk/our-locations/cameron-house.html
They have a similar offer running now it was 6 years ago we booked it so its a little more expensive now.
There may be a plush hotel close to your parents offering similar deals."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
It was nearly twenty years ago, but my two sisters and I had some "professional" photos taken of ourselves (one group, and three individual) and put them into four silver frames.
As I recall John Lewis only charged us for one of the frames.0 -
We did the same as Quote - a portrait of me & my sister for their 25th wedding anniversary, we repeated it for their 40th last year with our partners & my neice & nephew, they were delighted with both & they are both hung in their living room."Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0

We clubbed together for mum and dads Ruby wedding last year, and got a film made out of all their old photos and original cine film of their wedding. It wasnt cheap (I think it was about £300) but it was fabulous and they still play it on a regular basis!

thanks everyone - we're sorted
think we're going to go for the video thing - really like the idea of something that they can keep. Thanks again.0
