Hi there I have been waiting to hear from csa in regards to the case for my new baby. They said it would take up to 12 weeks to hear from them which i was shoocked by. In the meantime my babies dad and i set up our own private agreement.
I had a call today from someone from CSA from the clerical department asking me some info. He said the case had been passed on to them as it was a mess.
What exactly do the clerical department do? I did try and get their number through the general csa but they told me they were not contactable by phone? Why on earth not???
After a while i had am angry call from my ex saying they had rang his ex wife(who he has kids with too) asking for information on him.
Not sure why they are still contacting him and her when we have a private agreement set up which seems to be working, any ideas?

They're contacting him because you didn't ask for the case to be closed when they spoke to you I assume? If you still want CSA to assess the amount he has to pay, then they will need to contact him. If he has kids with his ex wife that he pays CSA for, then it would be better for him if you let them make an assessment as that way the amount he is able to pay will be shared between all of his children.0

They may still be contacting them both because as he has other children with an ex, then these also have to be taken into account when an assessment is being carried out.
Although you've stated that you & your ex have set up a private arrangement, you haven't said that you've actively written to the CSA to stop them continuing with their assessment, which is probably why they're still making enquiries. Meanwhile, your ex may well be accruing large amounts of arrears to the CSA.
Exactly what clerical do & why you can't contact them, I really don't know, but I would suggest it's gone to them because of the 2 ex wife complications.

Thanks for the replies, I did ring csa and tell them we had agreed on a private agreement but obviously they have lack of communication in their offices and computer systems.
Ex told me they rang him and hes paying me a bit more then he needs to (including his other kids) and hes happy to leave it at that. I doubled checked with them and its true, so i presume they will close the case?0 -

If his other ex is going through the CSA for child support, do they not insist the OP does as well? This might be why they are contacting her and haven't closed the account.
If the OP has a private agreement not linked to the CSA and the NRP has another PWC claiming child support off of him, how does that work? I thought all PWCs linked to that NRP had to go through the CSA in order to have all children taken into account for assessment purposes.. what I mean is, if one PWC has a private agreement and another claims through the CSA, will the CSA take the private agreement amount into consideration when calculating the percentage for the PWC child on the CSA case.
That's really long winded, I hope it makes sense.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61

The csa only take all children of an nrp into account if they have already been assessed by the csa, or if there is some legal arrangement such as a court order.
If the nrp of the OP has a csa case for his other children, and the OP
closes her case, he will indeed be paying more than he has to as the maintenance he pays for OP's child will not be taken into account.0 -

Get the independant case examiner to investigate asap as it could take years to secure payment for your child. I had the same scenario it took 18months to get the CSA to acknowledge the childs existance. once done you can go back to private agreementI only speak of my own experiences. and research that i have carried out whilst dealing with my own case with the child support agency0 -
If you can come to an amicable private agreement with your ex regarding maintenance without the need to involve the csa then you won't need to go through the hassle that the majority of posters on this board go through.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

The problem is the csa at anytime can turn and say that arrears need to be payed make a DEO and not leave him enough money to pay for the baby , it happened to me , she must persue it through the CSA to secure provision for the little one.I only speak of my own experiences. and research that i have carried out whilst dealing with my own case with the child support agency0
