Abolish at least half the MLA's while they're at it. I know one, went to school with Trevor Clarke, and i wouldn't let him look after my dog nevermind the Country

Hah .. my OH says we should have one MLA only per party. No proportional cr*p and the candidate's party has to polll a certain number of votes to qualify. I thought that sounded quite logical.

Do we have any concrete evidence of any benefit [to offset the £8M exs] that has come directly to NI?

I agree. For the size of this wee country, 30 people should be plenty to run the show with.

Also, Why are all these MP's and MLA's etc not getting prosecuted in any form from more or less doing what they want with our money.

Could we not send Sinn Fein to the southern parliament and just keep the SDLP in their place?

About 16 Ministers in the Scottish executive...Scotland has an area of approx 78805 Square km and population of approx 5 million people
About 14 Ministers In Northern Ireland Executive 14130 Square km and population of approx 1.8 million people
So it takes 2 less people to run an area 1/5 the size with a population of approx 1/3 that of Scotland

It's not the quantity that worries me, it's the quality...

If you try whittling it down, you're just reducing the sum total of brain cells, and there isn't a lot to whittle..

Nice idea. Unfortunately the ROI is less keen on the Shinners than Norn Iron is - their electoral support is dramatically shrinking south of the border.
