Hi ollie,
Not wanting to gatecrash your thread (!) but I'm in a similar situation and am looking for the same advice!
The only F&F I've dealt with so far has come from the creditor and I'm now getting into a position to start making my own offers but am just not sure how to go about it or where to start figures-wise.
If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated :APround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Hi Ollie
Not had any experience of doing my own F&Fs yet - but i believe 20% offers are not unheard of - and presumably better for them that waiting 200years for the debt to be paid off at £1per month! Have you ever done a CCA request on this debt to see if its legally enforceable?
Rainy - there is a guide and sample letter to send for F&Fs here - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=24_full_and_final_settlement_offers
The points about getting your offer in writing from them is really important. Also I would amend the sample letter to give them a deadline of say 2weeks to accept your offer.
Some people also advise that you state the money is coming from a relative and if they don't accept the offer then you will offer it to a different creditor (this is so they don't turn round and say we won't accept the offer but we know you have £500 so we want that anyway).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
