Halloween Party :)

For food idea you could have peeled grapes (eyeballs), make little individual cups of green or orange jelly and float some gummy worms or scary sweets inside, pumpkin pie, I like the idea of the ice cream cone witches hats too! Party bags could include some scary sweets (loads of deals around at the moment on funsize bars and things for trick and treaters), or you can get Halloween candies at places like the poundshop and Home Bargains cheaply, glowsticks (£1 for a tube of 25 ish), maybe a halloween cupcake or cookie? Someone came up with a great idea of getting lots of disposable cups, painting them or putting stickers on them, then giving out lots of little sweets to kids when they won games. So as they went along, the'd be filling their cup with sweets, which they then took home as party favours at the end.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0

For party bags how about a twist on Snowman Soup, try and find green marshmellows for the top?grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£3990

I have some cute little halloween favors on my blog made with some gelly teeth sweeties, these look nice but would not cost very much at all, I can not post a pic or link but it you search "a day in the life of a craft fairy" you can use the lables down the right hand side to find them

I'm having a Halloween party this year. The games we're doing are wrap the mummy, zombie tag (where one child is the zombie and blinfolded, and every time the "zombie" child makes a zombie noise the others have to as well, so the zombie can track them and then if caught they become the zombie), apple bobbing, pumpkin bowling, musical zombies, we have a game from Matalan as well, where you have to throw the ball in the spooky tree and pumpkins mouths. I'll probably do a dance competition as well. I'm thinking of pass the pumpkin (hollowed out pumpkin with gross feeling stuff inside but mini toys as well to find). I've printed out prize certificates as well for each child, the best apple bobber, the best pumpkin bowler, best costume, cutest costume, kindest monster etc.
I got some Halloween Lucky bags from The Works for 99p each for prizes. For the adults I've done favor bags. I ordered some mini pumpkin bathbombs and mummy shaped soaps from Lady Mucks.
I have a whole menu of food: Wizard Hat (Samosas), Witches Broomsticks (breadsticks with twiglets tied on the end), ghost marshmallows (from M&S) with Mud bath (choc. dip), Creepy crisps (bat and spider shaped crisps from M&S), Vampire fangs with blood (Tortillas and salsa), Rotten apples (apples with jelly worms), Orange Jelly Pumpkins, Severed arm cake, sandwiches in the spooky shapes cut with cookie cutters, monster face pizza, Egg eyeballs, puking pumpkin with vegetable platter (mini pumpkin with a puking face, with coleslaw coming out of its mouth, with salad surround), Goblin Bones (chicken drumsticks), bat wings (chicken wings), Dead mans fingers in blood (cocktail sausages and ketchup), Worm buns (hot dog sausages sliced into wiggly strips on an open bun with ketchup), cheese tombstones with eyeballs (pickled onions) on sticks, and a selection of cupcakes (probably spider ones, eyeball ones, I found a good one for owl cakes), broomstick kebabs (kebabs with strips of black paper on the end, mummy sausage rolls.0 -
I've done the floating coloured ice hand in punch (moulded in a rubber glove), and also a jelly one! Jelly one is a bit more awkward to get out - You'll definitely be cutting the glove away!
Ohhh I love that idea with the jelly!! Pinching it for my party, thanks:T

hedgewytch - I think I may be borrowing a few of your food ideas - they sound great0

Omg, you have to do witches fingers ;D biscuit dough rolled into finger shapes with an almond as a fingernail (of course no suitable wih nut allegies tho!) But they look great, you could include one in the party bags?

And you could still do some normal party games like musical zombie statues etcMan who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok

We just had a scary birthday party for my eldest who was 11 on Sunday.
Thought I'd post some pics of the things we did!
I made pumpkin puke, which was tuna, pasta and mayonaisse.
Maggot mix was bombay mix
Mystery flavour crisps were actually Dorito's mystery flavour crips.
I also did a diarrohea dip which was the chocolate fountain with marshmallows to dip in.
There were shop bought halloween cakes too.
I was going o do a bogey bog dip with green food colouring but never got round to it!
We made a sweety cake out of scary sweets
I did a 'guess how many sweets' in the poisonous pick 'n mix jar - winner got to keep the jar of sweets
We took them for a 'ghost hunt' in the local woods
Then we played 'wrap the mummy' game
Then the doughnut eating game
Then the find the jelly worms in the flour game - only using their mouths
We had a fancy dress competition but ran out of time for the other games!
Here's the birthday cake
We decorated the house and the garden and made the wooden castle in the garden into a ghost house with cobwebs and scary masks.
We got cheap battery operated lights from the 99p shop and strung them around the garden - they worked a treat and one set of batteries lasted all night.
We also have a night vision camera which we pointed out into the garden and set up on the tv so they could watch themselves on the tv.0 -
