Use fax with Broadband?

Can anyone tell me if you can send and receive faxes with Broadband, without having to subscribe and pay, but by using existing Microsoft fax software installed with XP? I seem to have the software but I don't know what someone would have to phone in order for my modem to pick up the fax?

You can use TPC to send faxes via e-mail. Check out http://www.tpc.int/
There are lots of fax to e-mail services out there that you can use to recieve faxes. But your best bet is hooking up the old 56K modem to your computer and using a telephone line.0 -
Thanks for that Fragtech.
I'll check out that website.
When it comes to hooking up to the phone line though it might be a bit difficult as my pc isn't situated in a room with a phone point now. :-/ But if I come to need it regularly then I guess I can fix up an extension point.
Thanks again.0
