NCO Europe?

Hey guys,

its been a while since I posted here, last post was regarding my dealings with Moorcroft (I have never had another call off them and only receive letters every so often from their other 'companies' such as Midas Legal Services etc.)

But this evening at around 8.20pm I receive a telephone call from someone who said they were calling on behlaf of what I thought was 'NFO Europe' (they spoke unclearly) and asked me to confirm the first line of my address, naturally I was suspicious of this, more so because of the time they were calling, so I asked who they were and why they called, I never got an answer when I asked who they were and all they said after that was 'It's a personal matter' and then again was asked for my address, I simply replied 'Look, I receive a phonecall 8.20 at night from someone who wont tell me who they are or why they rang, I don't think I'm gonna be giving you any personal info!" to which he replied "Fine then we'll just chase you in writing" then hung up!

I did some searching for what I think is called NFO Europe and found out that if it was them who rang then I am dealing with another DCA, A nasty one at that.

Could it be possible that Moorcroft have given up and passed it on?

If it helps the number they rang from is 0870 152 56 72

Thanks for any help in advance!

  • Also does anyone know if they ring off different numbers or is it always the same one?
  • Moorcroft may well have sold the debt on and you are right not to speak to these barstewards on the phone. Let them write to you and keep everything in writing.

  • They can use different numbers to try and get crafty. I had one DCA who used about 3 different numbers to try and catch me out.

If you get a number you are not sure about, check out www.whocallsme.com and you may well find out.

  • Thanks for the link, looks like it was them, if I use the same tactics as I did with Moorcroft (i.e. Ignore them as they wernt prepared to let me fight my corner) are they likely to leave me alone as Moorcrap did?
  • Ok so they are still calling from time to time, also 2 weeks ago had the famous 'Mr P Brown' card, of course he didnt show, and also beginning of last week had a '72 hour to pay or go to court' letter (dated 6 days before I recieved it).

So I decided to take some advice and request a CCA from them, I sent the letter explaining that under the consumer credit act they had 12 days to honor my request or legally they cant contact me for money, I sent it along with the £1 postal order, all sent by recorded delivery.

I checked this evening to see if it had been received, which it had, but they are still calling, Is there any way to ge them to stop? I would really like some advice on how to get rid of them, i've tried everything I can think of.

    Thanks in advance.
