Statute barred ??

Quick question that i hope someone can help with.

I know a statute barred status can apply to a debt after 5 years in Scotland but takes 6 years in England. What happens if a debt occured in Scotland and then the debtor moves to England years later? does the statute barred still take affect after 5 years because that is where the debt occured or is it now 6 years as that is the debtors new address?

Hope someone can help.

I will presume it will apply to where ever the debt first started. I.e. moving to Scotland won't take a year off an existing debt.
