Hi,I am currently on a DMP with CCCS,which has been running for several years now.The trouble is,the balance doesnt seem to be going down a great deal, despite increased payments. My question is if I go down the CCA route to my creditors, should I stop paying them through the DMP with CCCS,or carry on?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try asking on the DMP Mutual Support Thread (Part 6) as well.
I'm sure quite a few people have probably CCA'd creditors, or considered it.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hello,
I had DMP with CCCS which ended last November. I had a disputed amount with one creditor (towards the end of the DMP) and I requested the CCA from them which they couldn't supply so it was written off (although they did try to ask for it again by using their sister company!) - this was Lowell & Red!!!
This debt was supposedly paid in full by DMP with CCCS in 2007 and as I didn't hear from them I assumed it was. Then I had a phone call asking for payment in 2008 & to cut a long story short after phone calls & letters & the debt increasing from £80 to over £300! - it was written off but still showing as default & no payments on my credit file!
I think I can remember CCCS saying that if I didn't pay it then the creditor might still pursue it later or something like that! After searching/asking on here I didn't pay it!
My DMP was for just over 5 years (£18,000)
Hope this is some help to you.
Good luck with the rest of your DMP.
As the debts are cleared you will start to see the amount reducing quicker as there is more money between fewer creditors.0 -
