Council Eviction - a friend in need

Aa friend of mine got into difficulty a few years ago, over loss of incapacity benefit and fell behind on rent and council tax. Also has crisis loans ongoing. It appears that teh council took him to court over teh unpaid bit.... was warned that if he came up again to court, he would lose his home.

So for £283.00 the council have raised some sort of notice. Is there anything he can do, says he has seen CAB... is going to end up on streets. He has just startted a college couse, they gave him PPE equipment but no travel expenses, ive helped witht hose but cant help with the 283.

Whar can he do?

Comments

  • he needs to contact the council and make a payment arrangement. say £3.50 per week for his arrears and pay his rent. they are unlikely to evict if he can keep to his payment arrangement.
