It is in effect the same system.
OP could possibly look into a simple water heater, or an electric shower. Washing machine on cold fill, it will always heat up enough anyway. Launderettes are OK value if you have a lot of stuff, £3.50 for the smaillest machine which takes well more than my machine does.
I take big stuff round to my mum's as she has a garden to dry things and a tumble dryer for emergencies.

Hiya, I am not on a DMP but money is really really tight and this is the sort of thing I worry about. Cant offer any new suggestions, just wanted to send some moral support. Last winter we had a few weeks where we ran out of oil for the central heating and couldnt afford any more. It was tough but we survived, luckily we have an electric shower and we borrowed an electric heater. The washing machine we just used as normal. Hope you get it sorted.0

Vast majority of washing machines are coldfill as someone has said, so they don't need hot water.
Do you have an electric shower?0 -
Just a simple quick one to suggest that if you're really really cold and need direct heat, don't forget a hot water bottle! It's what I use when I'm freezing and it warms me up quickly.
Sorry I can't offer any other advice, hope you get sorted soon.0
