Flat Rate Scheme Question

Hi all
My husband is on a flat rate scheme and our next return is Qe Sept. During this period he purchased a van. I think we can claim the vat back on an asset over £2000. Is this correct? And if so, do I attach a copy of the vat invoice to the vat return? I have never come accross this before, so all advice is welcome.
Cheers

You make the claim by putting the amount of VAT you were charged in Box 4 of the VAT return. You don't need to send in a copy of the invoice.0
