  • :xmastree:I'm back in this week after having a rubbish week last week!

Firstly I had a friend visiting, which was brilliant as we hadn't seen each other for 2 years but it did mean housework wasn't done. Then on Wednesday my mother's sister passed away suddenly so we've been in shock and not able to do much around here.

This week I'm raring to go and need to get this place in order asap!

    Manic Monday ~ Kitchen & Dining Room:j

DS has gone to school today. He was desperate to go and as this could be a long term thing i've been told to send him and then he can get sent home if he has a bout of pain. I'll be on pins all day waiting for the phone to ring!

I'm also waiting for the builders to arrive. It's drizzling though so I won't be surprized if they don't come - I just wish they'd let me know as the dogs are waiting for a walk!

So, today's list done. Think i'm going to make a start elsewhere in the house and then i'll do some studying this afternoon....that's the plan!!! I also need to fit in a long walk with dogs and a wii fit session.

See you all later and hugs to everyone xx

ETA - I also meant to say a big welcome to anyone new to the thread...it won't take long to get yourself in order even if you just do a few bits each day xx

Not been able to fly much last week due to feeling rotten. Been full of a cold and aching all over. Also been feeling sick every morning (but think this may well be morning sickness lol-not done a test yet, but am well overdue and it feels just like the other pregnancies so looks like baby 4 may be on the way).
Anyhoo OH gave me a hand at weekend and we had a good sort of DD1's room and moved DD2 from our room to hers. So far they seem to be enjoying sharing and have slept very well. Done some sorting and made a start on the kitchen as well.
    So the list for today-

Manic Monday ~ Kitchen & Dining Room
    Level One
    Declutter worksurfaces
    Sweep and mop floors
    Level Two
Wipe worksurfaces and see if you can do those small appliances on the way round
Wipe fronts of units and large appliances
    [STRIKE]Empty, clean and sort a cupboard[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
    Clean out the fridge
    Wipe the hob and oven
Clean the table and replace cloth if needed

    Extras
    1. Wash windows
    2. Clear and wipe all sills
    3. Wash any blinds/curtains that are in need
    4. HHI
May ony hit level 2 but we will see. Hopefull will help me ignore that "I'm on a ship, on a rough sea" sicky, woozy feeling lol.
Munching on homemade ginger biscuits is helping as well.

A quick question - does anyone have 2 children at home and manage to keep on top of everything?

I have 2 21/2 year olds who seem to want constant attention and if they don't get it resort to re-enacting scenes from the worst war/torture films!! They will never agree on anything, with the exception of if we only have 1 of something then they will agree that they both want it - cue hand to hand combat!

Any tips for occupying the littlies while you get things done? If I give them each a damp cloth they fight over who gets to clean that square centimetre of window or whatever!!

    Lell x

I have 3 children, but 2 are at school. Mind you 6 weeks over summer was fun lol. All their friends seem to come here and I will walk in to groups of kids lol.
Mine do help once you get them motivated, and helping to clean is a good start. My kids all love cooking and baking, and I can potter around the kitchen doing jobs whilst they mix/ice and decorate cakes or biscuits.
My little one is nearly 2 as well and does want attention, but I reckon spending time with her playing etc is worth far more than the housework. They don't stay little very long and sooner than you think you will be calling the mobile to get them home for tea .

I try to do bits and then come back to her when she wants me, she does like to help though. I found with mine when they are helping the secret is to give them a cloth each and separate jobs ie . you do the window sill, you do the little tables. I didn't trust them with the cleaning spray when little and would do the "squirting" myself onto the funiture etc.

Do they sleep in the afternoon, mine all seemed to have a post lunch kip which is a great time for a dash around, sometimes try to get dinner on early in the slow cooker so one less job to worry about in the afternoon.

In my case the others being back from school later on usually gives me a good couple of hours of the little one being entertained, by playing with or watching eithe DS or DD1.

Either way enjoy them when they are small and don't beat yourself up over the housework, thats why we are all here anyway lol.
