Only a bailiff would be able to remove anything from your property and even then, only if they gain 'peaceful entry' and get a walking posession order. For a bailiff to come knocking, they would need to take you to court perhaps for a CCJ and you then do not pay this.

I don't know how any final figure would be calculated but if you defend any court claim then the onus is on them to prove that you owe the money - not for you to prove that you don't.

One thing though - just because you have a new flat in 2007 does not prove that you moved out of the old one. They could argue that you were resident in both properties.

I would just make sure that you send the prove it letter which states that you dispute the debt is owed. They are probably just trying to scare you into paying - they don't care where the money comes from as long as they get the money. Getting proof of receipt is definately the right way to go.

    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

has npower sold the debt to them, if its a final account they may of and they will record it if so with the cra's . But saying that did you call on the day of move out with a read, they should be able to tell a friend works there and they can see when and who has been in an account. Npower would be quite easy to prove what is owed as would imagine they have the unpaid bills
