Sunday jobs that pay time and a half/double time

Hi there. I am a student at university and I work on Sundays in a suit shop. We get paid single time on Sundays but I get paid commission on what I sell which essentially takes my wage to ~£7 per hour. I was just thinking if anyone knows any places that still pay new starters time and a half or even double time these days. And also anywhere that pays time and a half or double time with commission too. Just thinking it may be worth me looking for another job while I'm still working if I can earn a lot more... Or has everyone got out of paying time and a half these days by having contracts just for Sunday staff at single time?

NHS pays premium rates for Sunday working. Try Health care assistant, catering, medical records. You probably need to work more than Sundays only.0

I might be wrong but i think most employers only pay time and a half or double time if you work almost fulltime there through the weekDon't push me cos i'm close to the edge!
Anything posted on here by me is my opinion and my opinion only.......... allegedly lol0 -
Overtime premiums are not an automatic entitlement for even full time workers, so I think you would be extremely lucky to find an employer who would pay weekend only staff premium rates.
I did hear a whisper that Waitrose do, but unsure if that's true or not."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

when i was at sainsburys i was paid a sunday premium and i only did 16 hours a week but i think they have now stopped this but i could be wrong0 -
Hi yes i think 16 or more hours counts as full time if you're on tax credits etc
The point is you have to think yourself very lucky if you've managed to secure time and a half for sundays if you only work sundays
Not all employers do itDon't push me cos i'm close to the edge!

Most employers only pay time and a half/double time on Sundays if you have worked your usual hours throughout the weekmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Sainsbury's dont, not to new starters anyway. They scrapped it a few months ago, it's just those of us on old contracts that they pay it to.
Funnily enough they're having trouble getting people to do overtime now!0 -
The NHS pays an extra 30% for any hours between 8pm and 7am during the week and all day on Saturday and an extra 60% for any hours on a Sunday or Bank holiday irrespective of the hours you work. If you work full time you get an additional 50% for any hours above full time but you can't get both sets of payments for the same hours i.e. if you worked overtime (hours more than full time) on a Saturday you would be better taking the overtime increase of 50% but on a Sunday the enhancement/unsocial hours payment of 60% would be better.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200
