I have managed to aquire a whole heap of fabric samples, the kind in books for choosing your curtain/sofa material and I am unsure how to put them to good use. They are all different colours and textures but I want to use them for something creative and wondered if you fabulous people had any ideas
Meant to say I have a sewing machine and am quite handy with a needle and thread, just not so big on imagination!

Could you use them to make a patchwork quilt perhaps?0

I think they might be a bit rough for that, not sure though??Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

IDK. I just saw squares of material and thought quilt. Patchwork rug if too rough for quilt? Patchwork curtains? Cushions (or patchwork cushions if squares not big enough)?0

Depending on how much you have of this fabric, you could stitch squares of the same weight together and make a wrap round patchwork skirt. It would look great with boots for winter.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Depending on the size of the squares, could you turn them into some nice pillows/cushions, craft bags, chair/sofa arm covers, table runners, protective table mats for under plants/fruit bowls, jewellery rolls, knitting needle/crochet hook rolls.0

If you look in your local charity shops you'll find cheap duvet covers, which you could use to line the quilt, and make it into a throw over bedspread.
The other thing I though is what about cushions - you could make the basic sham from the squares, and then jazz up the front with applique/embroidery/sequins etc
OR, what about fabric bags - lined with offcuts or remnants, and jazzed up with beads/embroidery/etcI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
There are usually a lot of ideas for stuff like this on www.thesewingforum.co.uk. People post links there sometimes to websites where there are free projects available."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

you could make them into bean bags for the local primary school, i'm sure they would love them, or make curtains for a dolls house...0

Thank you for all the great suggestions so far! I already donated a lot of them to the local primary however I decided to use the rest myself for some projects. I have made my DD curtains and carpets for her dolls house with them. I really like the idea of the bags as they would make fun gifts for people too. Also thought about making some door stops as I really like the novelty ones I have seen.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
