Its mostly the scrappage effect on dealers selling pre-reg & up to 1 year old cars at increased prices.
Nothing more to say.0 -

Pick up a 5-6 year old Mondeo for a few grand, drive it into the ground over 3-4 years, repeat. My last one cost £3K and lasted 4 years. I replaced it in April with a 52 reg 55K miles Mondeo Ghia, tidy condition, £2K. Absolute bargain.0 -
I'd want a 3k car to last longer than 4 years!
More like 10 to get value back.......bearing in mind my £461 car has already done me 2 years. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I suspect you probably have a more comfortable driving experience with all mod cons...and yes, I am what is known as a boring driver although the cars have to deal with our local road system which is a real begger on the shocks and suspension!

I have a company car that I dont use much out of work. I have a 4wheel thingy that suits my needs far better (dogs, baby seats and an accumulation of junk that I keep meaning to clean out).
I used to be really into fast cars but these days it's safety first. If I could afford it, I'd have a Volvo XC60.Retail is the only therapy that works0 -

Is your 4 wheel thingy a land rover? It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
