Airbed/Guest bed

Hi, i have guests coming for christmas and was looking for advice on guest beds/ airbeds, my in-laws will have our bedroom (and of course bed!) and my partner and i will be on single beds in our childrens rooms as there isn't enough floor space for a double, i have been looking at raised airbeds, but they are expensive and was wondering if we would be ok on cheap inflatables (please note we don't have enough storage space for fold up beds). So i would like to know if you have experience of sleeping on them, and are they ok or not, or if you have any other ideas i would be grateful. Thanks:D

  • I would say it depends how long you are going to be sleeping on them. The cheaper ones are fine for a few days - we have used them for camping but for more than that I have found them uncomfortable.
  • Hi thanks for that it would probably be for a week, and i don't fancy being uncomfortable (i like my sleep and can be like a bear with a sore head if i don't get it:eek:)

I have a couple of single inflatables. They weren't very expensive, but I'd say they'd be comfy enough for a week. Possibly being in a sleeping bag helps too! Just a suggestion (this will depend on your childrens ages), but could you let the kids sleep on the inflatables and you and partner have their beds? I know my 4 year old finds it a novelty sleeping on the airbed when staying with relatives. - in fact I'd say she sleeps for longer!
  • I have been looking at bean bag floor cushions on ebay, which could be rolled and put out of the way in the attic, and if we go for an outdoors one it would be lovely to use in the garden if we get some nice weather next year. Thank you i never thought about my daughters beds they are or will be 4years old and 13 months, so sleeping in the babies cot bed won't be one option, but we could maybe take turns with the bean beds and my 4ys old bed.
