i usually make it with cocoa powder/icing sugar/butter or butter spread.
what is the recipe where you could add melted chocolate instead of cocoa powder?
just looking for a recipe that is a "wow" chocolately flavour.

i dont know about using melted chocolate as it would surely melt the butter and sugar and change it, but maybe you should try a ganache type topping ?here
its so so easy, leave it to cool and then whip it to a gorgeous moussey consistency...
its totally yummy, you can vary it by using different types of chocolate.. if you want grown up and bitter use very dark, if you want it smooth and sweet use milk, or white..
ive even used bounty, double decker or snickers in it before and it works...0 -
Nigella Lawson's scrummy chocolate fudge cake has the most amazing butter cream,made with melted chocolate;
175g dark chocolate, minimum 70% cocoa solids
250g unsalted butter, softened
275g icing sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Basically you melt the chocolate over a double boiler, whilst beating the sifted icing sugar and vanilla essence into the softend butter. When the butter and sugar are soft and fluffy, pour in the chocolate and mix until combined. I usually add in a tablespoon of camp coffee or espresso as this intensifies the chocolatey flavour.Sanity is the playground of the unimaginative!0 -
