Hello everybody!

When you are running your own DMP, do you tend to find that your creditors have a 'review' every 6-12 months, call you/write to you and then try and put pressure on you to pay more?

I had this happen with Triton and CCA'd them, with no response as such, and now today DLC have called about another account I'm paying off, offering me a final balance of 80% of the amount outstanding, or asking me to increase my payments to £82.50 each month, even though I have only got £3 spare each month, which I told them.

It was all very amicable, but they now want another copy of my SOA so they can see how to progress with my account, and want to e-mail me rather than write to me as they 'need to be in contact with me and correspond regularly'.

So, I'll send my SOA to them and see what they say. Should I also CCA them just for the fun of it or should I leave it, as the chap on the 'phone, was, amazingly very pleasant.

T xx

When you do a DMP with the organisations such as CCCS or Payplan they do do regular reviews which produce a new SoA, so I think as you are self-managing then thats probably why they are asking you for a new one.
I'd say its reasonable to send it every 6-12months (but not if they start asking every couple of months!).

As to CCAing them, you could say it never hurts to CCA them (especially as its a DCA and they will have bought your debt for very little) - or you could wait and see if they are happy with your SoA and accept your current repayment. Certainly if they become difficult I'd CCA them

-Maybe he was only pleasant cos he'd bullied /tricked lots of people out of extra cash that day?
    - cynical? me? never!
