Halifax not replying to letter regarding overdraft

I contacted Halifax regarding my overdraft with them and asked for them to accept a minimum monthly payment and freeze any interest on the account.
I sent a financial breakdown with proof of my income being soley Incapacity Benefit and also my outgoings.
They have not responded to my letter even though I sent it recorded delivery.
I notice from my online statement that they have withdrawn my overdraft facility which must confirm that they have received the letter.
I am expecting them to add the interest for this month onto the account which will then take me over the agreed overdraft of £4500.
I sent the letter to the Leeds address with postcode LS1 1WU which the bank gave to me.
I will be sending them another letter with a copy of the original one in but not very confident that they have given me the right address.

Kitty,
I sent a letter to the Halifax requesting them to accept a monthly payment for a certain amount and although they took a while they did accept it, they even stopped charging monthly interest, and removed all the charges due to be applied.
Every time I make my payment they reduce my overdraft automatically by that amount which is quite good - my account is now an "enquiry only service"
They even wrote back with an offer to pay of an amount less than what was quoted on my letter to them!!
They do take a while though!!0 -
Thanks for your reply garthomas.
My account says "enquiry only service" too.
What address did you send your letter to?
They have obviously received my letter but I hope they accept my offer and don't add any more charges.
I would send them a cheque or postal order for the minimum payment but not sure where to send it to.
The bank statements have no address on, only the local branch address.
Best of luck with your debt free journey.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

Do you have another account that your benefits are being paid into?
Might want to look into this if you haven't - at least then the bank can't just take money from your account. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Yes. I set one up on the advice of PayPlan.
My benefits and direct debits are all set up from the new one.
I forgot to transfer one direct debit and that will cause me a problem because it is due to go out and Halifax have more or less shut the account down.
I'm not sure what happens in this case because I can't put the money in to cover it because it is suspended but I think it will still be accruing interest and will also not be paid.
I know I should have checked all the direct debits but unfortunately this one was not transferred.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5
