Agreed to pay bank xx amount each month to clear debt - does this have 2b automated?

I agreed to pay bank xx amount each month to clear debt - does this money to be paid have to be automatically taken each month from another account, or could the bank (halifax) agree to have it merely paid by the set date into the account which holds the debt, in any form, eg by cash? Or this something that different banks may have different views- on how I can pay them? I wouldve thought as long as the money is paid by the set date each month they shouldnt have any problems with cash? I really wouldnt want the money to be paid automatically, just in case I have problems paying from a set account at any time in future. thanks for any info

I would think that as long as they got their money they wouldn't be too bothered.
What was it you agreed exactly?
Was it that you would make payment of xx before a certain date each month?
Even if it was just that you would make the payment each month, as long as they got the money (and it cleared in time) then you should be okay paying by whatever means you wish. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

thanks, yes by a set date, essentially end of month. I forgot to ask them on the phone if all interest would be stopped, to avoid further charges. When i asked them on the phone, they stated they were BOS/HALIFAX, so now i am not sure as to whether they were working in aid of them, eg a debt collection company with the potential to stop charging anymore interest, or whether it was still the bank directly contacting me. I can only hope interest charges are stopped now, however they did say that all overdraft charges eg £30+ a month, would definately not be charged anymore.
I agreed to pay a small amount since i am out of work due to health, and am considering trying to get back all charges, since the account was changed from a student account which did not have charges, into a standard current one. They charged me interest ever since, then £30+ each time for their charges making me go over the overdraft limit. Each time i paid money into the account they would charge more interest, then the 30+ once again. They owe me around £400 to 500 in total
thanks0 -
If you are in financial hardship as you might be due to health, then if you go through your statements and tally up your charges you can reclaim them now.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

yeah i can supposedly claim due to hardship and get a quicker result, but ill bet if i send a letter to the bank theyll still try and stretch it out for as long as possible in not hearing back from them for a long while, not offering the full amount, or not handing over anything until the last minute. It seems in hardship its the same steps anyway, sending letters back and forth to the bank until they finally give in. thanks0
