forgive me if this is in the wrong place
before i found the forums of MSE , i searched for months for some good quality cheap sofas, cheap but good quality, I found numerous sites that offered leather sofas which turned out to be "leather match~" plastic sides and back! eek and i very nearly bought some
but then i found sofa sofa in wales http://www.sofasofa.co.uk/
they delivered when they said they would, i have had the sofas for over 6 months now and they still look new and i am very pleased with my purchase
i just thought this might be of use to anyone looking for a new leather sofa
i dont work or am related to them in any way..i paid about £800 for 2 sofas (sale) and they are good quality

i bought two leather sofa's from Tesco Direct - and having them picked up tomorrow as they gave me a severe rash - had to get some antibiotic cream from the Doc - this morning I had two amazing Italian leather sofas delivered from my local furniture store which were quite expensive but amazing quality, so my advice is don't buy cheap leather sofas0

"Leather" is confusing, I've got two leather sofas and got them cheaply'ish - still £1800 for the pair, but they are aniline (uncorrected), the top part of the hide.
Some of the story's regarding what is "leather" is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!
A bit like "chipboard", bits just glued together, dyed, and rolled out like pastry.
It's a minefield, buy cheap, but buy quality cheap.
BTW, the SofaSofa site looks pretty good and I'm on the look-out for new sofas for my son - thanks.

Would also recommend sofasofa, bought 2 leather sofas from them 3 years ago in their sale(regular event) at 1/2 price around £400 for the 2 and they have been great - delivered when they said. Was a bit dubious at the time.0

maple41, which model did you buy??
£400 for 2 sofas (£200 each)??
Do they have "half-price" sales often??

I bought the Malmo leather sofas, they look and feel much better quality than the price (800 for 2) would suggest
I used to work in the furnitue industry for over a decade and can vouch for the quality of sofasofa, I was dubious about buying online but the price and their free return policy if you didnt like the sofas made me edgily choose them, I am so glad I did, I have had lots of comments about my sofas and most people do a ouble take when I tell them how little they costIf at first you dont succeed.............skydiving is not for you !0 -
NJE24, I ain't criticising Tesco persay, as it is the supermarket I use mostly and generally think they are much better than most, just warning against cheap leather sofas imported from China, which these were, if you had suffered a rash all over your body and had to seek medical advice as a consequence, you might also want to warn peeps on here against those sofas, if you look online (try googling sofa rash) you will see that this has been a huge issue with other companies, and there are some legal challenges going on right now0

I can understand if i had come out in a rash would feel the same, but i bought 2 sofas at £125 each in offer and gave one to a friend. Both of us are allright and the sofas are exactly what i wanted.(amersham sofa)0

Ive looked at the website you mentioned and although the sofas look good quality the price is off the scale of what you are comparing them too. I paid £250 for two two seaters.0
