bit of a pointless freebie seeing as your GP will do a free cholesterol test but hey hoe... guess it is cheap advertising for them.

Cholesterol tests are free at your GP surgery but they are not free to the NHS. The cost of just the cartridge used in the test is £15, add to that the cost of the appointment and the nurses time and your looking at around £100 a test, so help out the NHS and use this test instead!!!

The test done by Lloyds pharmacy and Boots can be significantly innacurate,
with huge discepancies between their results and the lab results,
Also all test should also be fasting.
It is however a good a way to get people to be healthy
but the irony is when their cholesterol is found to be raised in a considerable number of smokers,
they still do not stop!!
why bother having the test if you are not prepared to heed the advice?

I disagree.

There are many freebies posted on here which have a limit well below the 10K on this one. From the paper insert I was given (where I first found out about this freebie), it actually said the first 10K people to apply. I know it says something different on the website, but I still think that considering the number of free tests being given away, this deserved to be on the Freebies board. After all, 10,000 is a lot of free tests.

Oh, and for those saying you can get these free on the NHS...I think you'll find that's only if you show signs of needing a test done. They don't just test anyone who feels like it. You can't just walk into your Drs and say "I'd like a Cholesterol test, please". Well, you can, but you'd be asked why you think you need one. If you don't give a good enough reason, you'll be told to go away!
