Toastmaster

Is it really worth hiring a toastmaster?

  • We're having a medieval MC.
But then we're having a medieval wedding ;)

We've not bothered as only 30 guests, but may be a good idea to shepard the crowd at a bigger 'do'??

I only have one cos he came with the package we booked.

It depends how formal you want to be. If only having an intimate low key affair it may not be necessary, but it will give you some indication of timings for speeches etc.

At our reception, the manager of the hotel where we were holding our reception acted as toastmaster at no extra charge, but then we did have 100ish people.

If you want one, ask at your reception venue in case there is someone there that can do it for you.

  • Thanks for all the fast answers! Has anyone used a professional toastmaster at their wedding, and if so, how much did it cost?

My cousin got married in Kent last year and I'm sure her husband said it was £500 for a master of ceremonies so they didn't bother.
