My hall is freezing these days. The heater is not hot enough. Looking to buy a heater myself.
I want that personal/small type, not the big one for house.
anybody know where to find a bargin? just use for this winter, qulity is not important, as cheap as possible.
Thanks.

Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,

We have several large buildings/sheds at the end of the garden which we use as playrooms and hobby rooms for the children. In the winter they are always freezing and the best way we have found to heat them is by using fan heaters.
it isn't the cheapest method but it is the only one that works for a larger space (the largest shed is about 16ft by 10 foot). We have tried oil filled radiators but they have to stay on for hours just to stop ice forming on the condensation!
By a strange co incidence I bought two new fan heaters this morning in Tesco for £7.99 each, 2 watt output.

I think you may have missed some zeroes or something. 2 watts wouldn't be enough to keep a fly warm in a 6" square box.
Remember that electricity costs about 4x more than gas for a given amount of energy / heat. So natural (mains) gas is always the best bet. I can't belive the number of dual fual cookers on sale, with expensive-to-run electric ovens. What a waste! Bottled gas is even more expensive so avoid that at all costs.0 -
I was buying some kitchen stuff at Robert Dyas website and noticed they have got some 2kw fan heaters for £10 and 1.5 and 2.2 kw radiators and halogen and convector heaters almost all under £30. (please note I wasn't buying heaters on this site so can't say if they are any good or a good price, just thought it might be of interest. As a company they've been fine when I have bought other stuff and are on several cashback sites too if that makes any difference. £4 delivery).

The box says 2kw output but on the side it says 2000w (wattage). does that make more sense?
All I know is that we can run 2 x 2 watt at a time in two sheds but we can't use 2 x 3 watt ones at it blows the fuse after a while.
We used to use a calor gas fire, the old type, but we got rid of it when the children were old enough to play on their own in the sheds as it didn't seem very safe. That certainly did get very warm! However, we only have electricity and not gas so we either have to have a free standing heater or a plug into the mains one.

That's more like it! Kw stands for kilo watt, being a thousand watts. So 2kw = 2000w or a thousand times more energy than 2 watts.0 -
