i posted last week to say we were changing from virgin one to nationwide.
we have a house £190k mortgage £98k income £42k
when i phoned to say we would go ahead with their then 5 year at 4.74 %which is now 4.94!!!!!! they did a credit check & because at the time we had £20k sitting on 0% credit cards instead of being on our mortgage which that day i had paid back to mortgage so now we only have the mortage & no other cerdit.the credit check failed & they had to ask for all our details ie bank account, mortage statement etc which i sent in last sat & know they got them on monday we are still waiting to hear the out come. i have phoned again tonight but got told only they person dealing with our application can talk to us. she is in tomorrow so i was told to call back.
any idea how long it can take to get an answer as i know i will get no where tomorrow being a weekend.
we have never had a problem with our credit before never missed a payment etc
what should i do now

Dont panic...they'll get back to you shortly.
However, they are quite slow with the old processing...It doesnt necessarily mean a no, although obviously I cant comment on your particular circumstances, it's just one of those things. My heart sinks whenever they come up as the best deal for my clients cause I know it'll take an age with them.0 -
I'm just finishing off a remortgage with them (completes Monday). The early stages took an age (though they did reserve the rate for me early on) and nothing happened without them being pushed. The solicitors they appointed have been like lightening though, compared with the Bank of Ireland ones last time we remortgaged.4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. This is the reason to use a broker, they would have worked all the sums out for you and you would neve rhave had the failed credit check as you would have been advised to put the £20k into mortgage again!I am a Mortgage Adviser
