Counter top freezers

Recently my landlord replaced my fridge freezer with just a fridge. After bringing this up all I got was a "tough luck".

As I try to cook in bulk as much as possible this normally means I can only cook for 3 days. Also means I sometimes waste food due to not being at home.

Has anyone had any experience with counter top freezers? Are they any good and are they large enough to hold a decent amount of individually frozen meals?

  • just a thought, does your inventory have a fridge freezer marked on it, and were you told when letting the property a fridge freezer was included?

counter top freezers aren't huge but it might be worth heading to somewhere like iceland and having a look, maybe seeing if you have space for an undercounter size freezer and you can then take it with you?

  • never received a inventory when i moved in a few years ago. new landlord took over my tenancy a year ago and when the fridge/freezer died he replaced it with a fridge. I did tell him a few days after it was installed that I took on the tenancy with a fridge/freezer but the response as i mentioned was "tough luck". Not his problem.

nowhere to put a under counter freezer sadly. cheers will look in iceland though see if I can get a rough idea. Aslong as I'd be able to stick 20 or so smallish (1 litre?) plastic containers in, 1 meal each, i'd be happy.

Could you perhaps find the space for a small chest freezer - even perhaps in the livingroom/bedroom/hallway?

Sadly not, I live in a very small 1 bedroom flat. Only possibility would be my living room, however im not sure if thats something i'd want to do! lol

I've got one of these small table top freezers. I keep it downstairs in the utility room to use for the overflow allotment produce. It's bulky but it's not ludicrously large...you could put it in a corner, throw a cloth over it (NOT over the back where the compressor is...it needs an airflow there) and stick a table lamp on top.
