Loratadine 10mg tablets can be given to children over the age of 6. I checked with my pharmacist and confimed by GP. Different brand packets may though state age 12+ but it's in the pharmacy handbook as 6+.
My DD (11) was prescribed Neo Clarityn (deso loratadine) in syrup form as you have to be over 12 for the tablets. It wasn't working for her though so I gave her one of my loratadine tablets and she was much better. GP is now prescribing the loratadine tablets for her.
While collecting the prescription I asked the pharmacist how much a pack of 30 would cost me to buy. £2.32 for the 30 dispensary pack, cheaper than Tesco (99p for 7 & Wilkinson 69p for 7). I bought 60~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
