Are there any OS Coeliacs around?
Got my mum coming to stay on Wednesday for a week, so my next 2 weeks meal plans need to incorporate her gluten-free diet. Don't want to cook separate things for us and her, so we'll be gluten-free for a week (might do a spaghetti with GF pasta for her though)
Apart from curry & rice, chilli & rice and cottage pie & mash...has anyone got any suggestions?
Be nice to use this as an excuse to try some new recipes...?

there are some gluten free threads in the Complete Cooking Collection and you may find something useful in the next section - Healthy eating
I did a search of OS for Gluten free too
hope you find something useful there.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Don't rush out and buy loads of GF foods as many of them are horrible. The best thing to do is ask which ones she likes (or get her to bring her favorite bread and pasta). There are loads of naurally GF dishes -casseroles, soups, risotos, curry, cottage pie just make sure you use corn flour or GF flour (doves farm is best) to thicken and don't get caught out with stock cubes / soy sauce etc which contain wheat (use bullion or tamari instead, but check lables). for puddings do fruit based things like baked pears fruit salad etc as there are only a few baked goods which are not horrible. (can provide GF cake recipe if needed.)0

For quick meals:
Some of the Debby and Andrews sausages range are gf. So are 'speedy sausages' by Helen Browning. You can get these in bigger supermarkets. Some butchers also make their own gf sausage. I think M&S chipolatas are gf too.
You can get gf fishfingers, which are fine, in Sainsbury and in Tesco as well I think.
Spanish omlette is good.
In a typical week we would probably have something like:
Curry
Chilli
Sausage/fish fingers
Gf quiche or chicken pie made with Mrs Crimbles pastry mix (get it in large supermarkets)
Roast dinner with trimmings
Prawn stir fry with rice or buckwheat or rice noodles (check your soy sauce is tamari as nanokitten said)
Courgette and potato bake (hot fry thin wedges courgette in olive oil til well done, squeeze on some lemon juice. Boil some potatoes. Put courgettes and potatoes in ovenproof, shallow dish, top with homemade tomato sauce made how you like it. Cover with foil, cook in oven til heated through, remove foil, add some grated cheese and return to oven for cheese to melt.)
Weekend lunches tend to be homemade veg soup.
The Doves Farm flour packet has a white sauce recipe on it, which you can also use for cheese sauce etc. You can make nice cakes with it too, just make sure your baking powder is gf. I use Pure Organics gravy powder which you can get in large supermarkets.
If you want to make Yorkshire Puddings here's a recipe:
50g cornflour
50g gf flour
3 medium eggs beaten
pinch salt (optional)
140 ml milk
1-2 tablespoons veg oil
Heat oven to 220c, fan 210c, 425f or gas 7.
Put oil in tins (littles or one large, works fine with both)
Put cornflour and gf flour in a bowl and add salt
Add beaten eggs and whisk to a thick batter
Add milk and whisk til smooth
Pour into tins and put in oven about 10-15 mins, til risen and brown. Keep an eye on it.
These are great - very light and rise really well. Your whole family will like them.

P.S. You'll need to get separate butter for your mum and make sure she has her own jam etc so that she doesn't accidently get glutened by bread crumbs0
