To cut a long story short his wife has left him took the kids and took his 5k life savings. She no longers lives in the family home but is using that address to gain credit cards etc.
We know this for a fact. Were worried as my brother has a very good credit score and theres no way that she can pay back these new cards and loans.
As they are hustband and wife they are associated (sp) together and we have been advised to write a notice of dissasoation (sp) can anyone please tell us what one of these is? Is it right for this situation? Has anyone had any experience of these? What do you write and to whom
Any advice is most welcome and im sorry if this is the wrong board
We are dealing with the 5k and we will get it paid off asap
Thanks in advance

Get in contact with Citizens' Advice Bureau, NOW!
He really needs to tell to all credit Ref agencies 'she is no longer at that address' if she is stating she is living there when she is NOT, pretty sure she is committing FRAUD!

hi, same thing happened to a friend of mine, her husband left but he still used that address to apply for loans and cards.....she found out when one of the companies phoned to confirm.....she sent of for her credit report and then wrote to them with the dates he left and that they were no longer associated. It seemed to stop him from getting any further loans or cards0

I suspect that we are only hearing one side of the story here? I am wondering if there was good reason that she took off with the children (effectively making them homeless) in order to leave your brother? Maybe she needed the 5k to get herself and the children started somewhere else. I am presuming this money was in a joint account or else how could she have obtained the money? Did she look after the children whilst your brother worked, enabling him to save 5k savings? What makes him so adamant that the 5k was his savings alone? She obviously feels that she is entitled to that money - maybe on behalf of the children? Sorry if this sounds negative but I know from experience that things are never as clear-cut as they first appear, two sides to every story etc etc.0
