Hello
I have 10,000 euro's in cash that I'd like to change into Sterling. Does anyone know where I could do this for the least commission?
Many thanks

Do you have an explaination about how you came to get the money?
Do you have a UK bank account? Some banks do not charge commission on sales and purchases of foreign currency although you probably will not get the best exchange rate by doing this.0 -
lots of trips with small amounts to many local post offices ......If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
Mortgage - £2,000

thanks. the money came from a closed french account that my husband held. He's French and there is a bank receipt with the money.0

Don't forget that any interest accrued during the lifetime of the account will need to be declared to the UK tax authorities now that the money has been remitted to the United Kingdom.0

When seeking the best rate you need to take account of both the exchange rate and the commission.
If the "Spot" rate is one Euro = 68p
Then 10,000 Euro = £6,800
See how near to this you can get.
Use the internet or phone around.
It would be well worth spending some time on the internet or on the phone seeking the best deal.

I can tell you where to get it changed at about 1 point different from the advertised teletext rate. Whereabouts in the Country are you? It will involc=ve a trip to London. Please pm for details.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Try giving Just Euros a call ( http://www.justeuros.co.uk ), they mainly deal in wire transfer but have traded hard currency with them before, rates are good and they credited my account same day.
If they cant help try OnlineFX.
Good luck0 -
