Hiya,
Me and my husband have a joint bank account with an overdraft.
We are re-paying this monthly, (well my hubbie is as i am out of work).
However, today i have recieved a letter from a solicitor saying they have been informed that i now need to re-pay this overdraft also????? i am so confused as my husband is paying it on behalf of both of us.
I just dont understand it, is it me being thick? Has somebody else had to deal with this?

Vicky,
You are both jointly liable for the debt.... and the bank is trying to recover their money.
Simply fill out a statement of affairs, tell them that you cannot afford to pay any more than has already been negotiatied, particularly as you are out of work and that you will inform them if the situation changes.
If they continue to harass you, particularly by phone tell them to put all communication in writing - if they ignore that then report them to the police for harrassment.
If you haven't done so already, also fill out a claim for all your bank charges over the last 6 years.
Good luck
