Paying off mortgage early..

Hello, All.

Advice please (apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I've had a brief look...)

I'm pleased to say that I'm very close to being able to pay off my mortgage.

Question is: what is best to do? Pay it off completely or leave a small mortgage? (and hence leaving the deeds etc with the mortgage lender..)

I successfully claimed against a missold endowment and have been paying interest only for a while, as I saved up the remainder.

We also had the £100 from Barclays recently - thanks for that!

Thanks -

If your reason for leaving the deeds with the lender is the discharge fee, remember that most properties are now on the electronic land registry so you dont actually need your paper deeds. Funny that the lenders dont broadcast this though isn't it
